Major features

Alolan Forms

Many Pokémon from previous game have new forms in Alola . For the most part , this is a case of Pokémon adapting to the different mood in the Alola realm . So far only Pokémon from Generation 1 have been show with Alolan Forms .

Z-Moves

A new struggle mechanic is useable with Z - Moves . During the games , Z - Crystals can be obtain , then if a Pokémon holds the vitreous silica and experience a move of that eccentric , it can habituate a Z - Move which are very knock-down attacks . Z - Moves can only be used once per struggle , however .

There is one Z - Crystal per type , but several Pokémon have exclusive Z - Moves - for example Raichu can useStoked Sparksurfer .

Battle Royal

Pokémon Sun & Moon add a new battle format calledBattle Royal . In this format , four players fight against each other at the same time . Each player has three Pokémon and sends out one at a time . Each Pokémon on the field can assail any of the other three . The struggle is over as soon as one role player ’s Pokémon have all swoon - then the achiever is decided by how many Pokémon each team KO’d and how many are leave on each team .

Hyper Training

Pokémon X & Y introduced Super Training , a mini - game where Pokémon could coach to increase their eV more quickly . Sun & Moon expand on this withHyper Trainingwhich allows level 100 Pokémon to increase their Individual Values ( quadruplet ) , the hidden stats that are commonly unique to every Pokémon .

Ultra Beasts

Ultra wildcat are inscrutable , herculean creatures that could pose a scourge to mankind and Pokémon in Sun & Moon . Research is being conduct on them so they all have code names such asUB-01 .

Poké Finder

This newfangled feature allows taking photos of Pokémon found throughout Alola . The better the pictures taken , the more features for the photographic camera are unlocked . Sometimes uncommon Pokémon seen with Poké Finder can be captured .
