TheMotorola Razr Plus 2024stands grandiloquent as one of the year’sbest folding phones . It ’s highly performant and has unspoiled photographic camera , solid software , and a spectacular aim . That last point was one of my favorite aspects of the earphone when I reviewed it this summer , and just in time for the new class , Motorola determine a way to ensure the Razr Plus continues to be a design drawing card heading into 2025 .
in the beginning this month , Motorola announced its new Mocha Mousse colorfor the Razr Plus . I think the render looked good , but as with any smartphone gloss , it ’s difficult to get the full experience until it ’s in your hands .
Motorola sent me the Razr Plus in the new Mocha Mousse outfit so I could do just that , and after expend some quality hand - on metre with the coloring material , I think it ’s safe to say I ’m 100 % betray on it .
This isn’t just a brown phone
Upon first seeing the Mocha Mousse refinement online , I was quick to dismiss it as a unknown ( and somewhat gross ) finish . Brown is n’t a color we usually see on smartphones , and for good reason . Motorola associated it with coffee grounds in its press release , but my first thinking was something that happens after having too much burnt umber .
However , after seeing Mocha Mousse in someone , I take back my immature gut response . This is astunningsmartphone . It ’s sophisticated , unique , and chop-chop becoming one of my favorite speech sound color of the full year .
To simply report Mocha Mousse as a “ brown phone ” would be inaccurate . Yes , the back of the phone is brown , but Motorola did n’t just slap a shade of brown on the back of the Razr Plus and call it a Clarence Day . Quite the opponent , in fact .
The back of the earpiece is speckled with dark dots , giving off the impression of tiny spot of coffee grounds in a warm loving cup of Joe . The brown is also much warmer and saturated in mortal than it count online , which I ’m a great rooter of . It remind me of the days of Motorola ’s existent leather - backed Moto X handsets , and with a soft vegan leather finish on the back of the Razr Plus , it ’s as good of a callback to those telephone as we ’ve ever gotten .

I want more of this in 2025
I ’ve hadmy fair share of kick with Motorola in 2024 . The company ’s Moto G batting order is a confusing deal , some of its phones are littered with ads and bloatware , and Motorola still needs to commit to retentive software update . There ’s plenty the caller require to compensate in the Modern year .
